When doctors treat cancer patients, they must keep incredibly detailed records of every diagnosis and treatment step. Doing this manually can be slow and exhausting for hospital staff. A study at a major cancer center in India tested a new digital platform designed to pull this information automatically from electronic records.

The results showed that the tool significantly sped up data entry. Specifically, it cut the time needed to record certain treatment details from about 27 minutes down to roughly 15 minutes. While the system made things faster and more efficient for the staff, some parts of the process still require manual checks, especially when patients are treated at different locations.

This tool helps ensure that information stays organized as it moves through the system. Even though some data points like treatment details were only available in about half of the cases, the platform helped streamline the overall workflow for the medical team.

What this means for you:
A new digital tool cut cancer data entry time by nearly half, making it easier for doctors to manage records.
