Neck pain can stop you from moving, working, or enjoying life. A new review looked at how different treatments help adults over 18 years old. They found that aerobic exercise alone does not reduce pain intensity or improve physical function compared to doing nothing or trying other methods like acupuncture. The data showed no clear benefit for doing cardio by itself. This means relying only on walking or jogging might not be enough to feel better.

However, the results changed when people combined aerobic exercise with other therapies. Mixing these activities led to better pain relief and improved function. The review also noted that strengthening exercises worked better than aerobic exercise for pain specifically. This suggests that a mix of different approaches often works best for people suffering from neck pain.

The researchers must admit the evidence is limited and of low quality. Different studies used different methods, making it hard to draw perfect conclusions. Despite these gaps, the message is clear: combining treatments helps more than sticking to one type of exercise. Patients should talk to their doctors about mixing therapies to get the best relief.
