Two specific exercises improved lung function and quality of life in COPD patients

People with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease often struggle to breathe and feel tired. This large review looked at many different exercise options to see which ones helped most. It included over 5,800 patients who tried various activities like walking, cycling, and specific traditional movements. The goal was to find the best way to improve lung function and quality of life.

Two specific exercises stood out from the rest. Water-based Liuzijue showed the strongest improvement in lung function. Yijinjing was the clear winner for reducing symptoms and improving how patients felt day to day. These results suggest that choosing the right activity matters a lot for recovery.

However, the researchers noted a limitation. There were very few studies on these two specific exercises. Because of this small amount of data, the results should be interpreted with caution. While the findings are promising, more research is needed to confirm these benefits for everyone.
