Managing a child with pulmonary hypertension is a heavy task for any parent. It involves constant monitoring, complex medical skills like central line care, and the stress of managing chronic illness. New evidence suggests that internet-based education can provide much-needed support for these families.
These online programs use interactive features and adaptive technology to teach caregivers. The research shows these tools can help parents better manage medications, recognize early symptoms, and feel more confident in their caregiving roles. By improving these skills, the programs may also lead to fewer emergency room visits and lower healthcare costs for the family.
While these digital tools show promise for improving quality of life, there are hurdles to overcome. Not every family has equal access to technology or the same level of comfort using it. Because this was a narrative review of existing literature, the evidence is currently limited by a lack of standardized content and varying levels of digital literacy among users.
