The study looked at 414 children and adolescents. The researchers found that using VR—both immersive and non-immersive versions—led to significant improvements in several areas. These included gross motor skills, balance, agility, and strength. It also helped with locomotor skills, which are movements like walking or running, and object-control skills.
While these results are promising, it is important to know that the evidence is still limited and not fully conclusive. Some findings were stronger in certain areas than others, and more research is needed to see if immersive VR offers a specific advantage. For now, it shows that virtual reality could be a helpful tool for physical development.
