Researchers looked at a new version of the Mindful Eating Scale designed for Chinese people. This tool helps measure how well people pay attention to their eating habits. The study included 217 overweight and obese individuals seen at an endocrinology outpatient department in Hangzhou.

The team tested the scale to see if it worked well for this specific group. They found that the scale had high reliability scores for internal consistency, item-total correlation, and retesting. Statistical tests also showed the scale fit the data well. These results suggest the tool is psychometrically sound for this population.

However, the study was limited to one region in China. Dietary habits can vary greatly across different areas of the country. Because of this, further research is needed to determine if this scale is suitable for all Chinese individuals who are overweight or obese. More testing is required before it can be widely used.
