In a large-scale Phase 3 trial involving 941 participants, the administration of Epo did not significantly reduce the number of deaths or severe neurodevelopmental impairments (NDI) at 22-26 months corrected age (p=0.05).

The use of Epo was also associated with no statistically significant difference in the occurrence of serious adverse events (SAE) compared to the control group (p=0.05). Additionally, imaging results showed no significant differences between groups (p=0.36).
