Anaplastic large cell lymphoma: what the trials found

Several agents have been evaluated and established in clinical trials for anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Brentuximab vedotin was assessed in a Phase 3 trial 1. Panobinostat has been evaluated across multiple Phase 2 studies [10, 11].

Chemotherapeutic and immunotherapeutic agents also show established evidence. Bendamustine hydrochloride was evaluated in two separate Phase 2 trials [6, 16]. Fludarabine phosphate was assessed in a Phase 2 trial 12, while cyclophosphamide was evaluated across three Phase 2 studies [18, 19, 22]. Alemtuzumab was also established through multiple Phase 2 investigations [14, 21].

Safety data for these established interventions include specific observations on graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). In trials involving fludarabine phosphate, the incidence of Grade III/IV GVHD was reported as 2% and 4% respectively 17, while alemtuzumab showed a Grade III-IV acute GVHD incidence of 25% 14.
