Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy: what the trials found

Mavacamten has demonstrated efficacy in reducing LVOT peak gradients in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. At week 30, a significant proportion of participants achieved a Valsalva LVOT peak gradient of < 30 mmHg 1 and < 50 mmHg 1.

Clinical improvements associated with mavacamten include a measurable reduction in the severity of HCM symptoms as measured by the HCMSQ score 2 and an improvement in health-related quality of life (KCCQ score) at week 30 2.
