Sjogren's Syndrome: what the trials found

Efgartigimod shows promise in Sjögren's syndrome. In a Phase 2 trial (N=24), it led to CRESS responders and improvements in ESSDAI at weeks 24 and 48 1. Another Phase 2 trial (N=34) reported that 45.5% of patients met the overall CRESS response at week 24, and 72.7% achieved minimal clinically important improvement in ESSDAI 5. These findings are consistent and suggest efgartigimod may be effective.

Varenicline nasal spray improved eye dryness in a Phase 4 trial (N=39), with a mean change in eye dryness VAS of -14.51 2. Maxidex was studied in a Phase 4 trial (N=97) for Sjögren's syndrome 3.
