Uveitis: what the trials found

Adalimumab has demonstrated significant efficacy in managing uveitis. Clinical trials showed a statistically significant reduction in time to treatment failure [1, 6] and significant improvements in vitreous haze (VH) grades 5. Additionally, Adalimumab was associated with higher rates of corticosteroid-sparing treatment success within the first 6 months 9, and some studies reported high percentages of patients achieving quiescence over time 8.

Intraocular implants and local injections show varied results for uveitis management. A fluocinolone acetonide intraocular implant significantly reduced uveitis activity compared to other treatments 4, while a dexamethasone intravitreal implant showed significant reduction in central subfield thickness at 12 weeks 10.
