Trauma: what the trials found

Pregabalin (50mg) has been shown to significantly improve pain control in trauma patients compared to other interventions (p<0.05). While it did not result in a statistically significant difference in opioid usage, it was associated with a statistically significant reduction in the rate of intubation (p<0.05) 1.

Protein supplementation has been evaluated for its impact on recovery, resulting in 15.0 and 13.9 ventilator-free days respectively 9. Other established interventions include the use of Acetylsalicylic acid 7, Ibuprofen 10, and Androgel (Testosterone Gel), though the latter did not show a statistically significant difference in Restricted Functional Inventory Measure (FIM) scores (p=0.9540) 6.

A 1:1:1 Blood Transfusion Ratio was evaluated for mortality outcomes; however, no statistically significant differences were found in 24-hour mortality (p=0.12), 30-day mortality (p=0.26), or hospital free days (p=0.83) 11. Testosterone administration showed no statistically significant change in lean mass (p=0.35) and reported KOOS scores ranging from 63.2 to 86.6 8.
