Knee Osteoarthritis: what the trials found

New clinical evidence indicates that cannabidiol was evaluated for its impact on cumulative opioid usage in the first 72 hours postoperatively 1. Additionally, several pharmacological and topical interventions have been established; Diclofenac Gel demonstrated a 33.3% reduction in pain scores during both week 1 and week 2 of treatment 15. Dexamethasone was evaluated in studies regarding verbal pain scores 17 and hospital duration 19, while Lidocaine Hydrochloride, Ropivacaine, and Zilretta (which achieved a KOOS-PS of 70.0) were also established as interventions for the condition [18, 21, 22].

Vitamin D was evaluated in a post-operative setting where patients showed Knee Society Scores (KSS) improving from approximately 46-50 at 3 weeks to 55-60 at 6 weeks, with no significant difference in Timed Up and Go scores 20. Other interventions including Pure PRP II 16 and Micro Fragmented Adipose Tissue were evaluated; however, the latter did not show statistically significant improvements in KOOS pain or symptoms, nor in Lysholm scores 5.
